Second Sale!

I’ve been a little down on the etsy front for the last week.  I was so excited to have my first sale and I was a bit depressed when it wasn’t followed by any others.  I’ve been cutting out templates and making new roses.  I have some pictures to take and then I can upload them on etsy to try to make more listings (one for each color instead of the way I have it now).  Besides that I’ve been trying to stay engaged in the forums and chats but I haven’t been blogging and I haven’t had a lot of motivation.

Today that will hopefully change!  I had my second sale today.  And this one is the one that counts.  My first sale was a PIF item that was only $0.20.  This one is for a full priced item.  I hope that means more people are seeing my products.  I seem to be getting a lot of hearts and views lately – and I’ve started to grown my facebook fans beyond my friends list. :)

Time to buckle down and get going.  I have TONS of items I want to make to help get some new projects out there.  I ordered business cards through Vista Print and now they are sending me all sorts of free deal coupons that I want to try and cash in on.  I want to come up with some regular blog feeds to help me stay on top of this blog, keep it fun and keep it interesting.  All good things!

First Sale!!

I had my very first sale on Etsy yesterday!  Whoopeeee!  While it was a Pay It Forward item and therefore I lost money on it, I still count it in the win column.  I’m hoping that selling my first item will help me with buyers that might be leery that I haven’t sold anything.  I’m also hoping that having some feedback will help in the leeriness as well.  I know I get a little leery of someone that hasn’t sold anything on ebay when I’m looking to buy.  I’m sure there are others out there like me.

So, since I finally sold an item, I had to decide what to do about shipping.  I found some PERFECT boxes at Uline online.  They come in bundles and are super cheap.  There is a warehouse here in the Los Angeles area, so I ordered a bundle of boxes Monday night and they can this evening.  Can’t really ask for any better than that!  I also ordered tissue paper from my office supplier (which also came today) and the box was full of air packets – perfect for me to use with my flower shipping!

Now I have all the shipping items I need to get the packaging done, next was to try and make it look “pretty”.  I added some tissue paper, a little ribbon and a branded tag to tie it all up.  Printed an invoice and a thank you note with flower care instructions.  Added in a business card (which I just had printed and they arrived Saturday) and now my first package is ready to go!  So exciting I hope it isn’t the only sale I have! :)
