Kelly I love me some jewelry on Etsy, and Helouise over at Farrielle Design does just that! Lots of wonderful pieces to choose from and she has some very interesting beads and stone that she uses in her work. Check out her shop and read her story below!

Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born on the island of Bonaire in the Caribbean, famous among divers and surfers. After getting married we moved to Amsterdam for a year and now we have been living in the States for almost 12 years. I am the mother to two elementary school children. I stay at home so I have quite some time to be creative. I love cooking, learning about other cultures, reading, dancing, singing and foreign languages.
I am very new to Etsy, although I had an account since last year I started listing my jewelry last October.
When did you first start making handmade products?
I started making jewelry 2 years ago when my lovely neighbor and friend Julie showed me how to make a necklace. Since then I am pretty much an addict when it comes to beads. When we travel we always have to make a trip to a beadstore. I am always on the lookout for unique stuff.
What makes your products unique?
The use of colors combination , different and contrasting textures, and they are all one of a kind, I only make my pieces once.
What item are you most proud of?
I am mostly proud of the bridal necklace I made my sisters last September. I thought I could not make it cause I cut a tendon in my thumb while cleaning the glass part of a picture frame 2 months before the wedding. So after my cast came off I decided that even though it hurts a bit and it is not as it was, I will try to make it for her, it took me more than two weeks but I was really happy when she walk down the aisle wearing my design.
What’s your goal for the upcoming year?
My goal is to promote my shop more, and get into a sales attitude, and also sell more off my pieces in the US, Caribbean and also other parts of the world.
Why should someone buy your products?
Because you will be putting on a piece that is handmade and unique. Something that will surely bring you joy for years to come.
Here’s your chance to pimp your online persona (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, etc.).
Follow me on twitter.
My blog http://farrielledesignandfashion.blogspot.com/ - a journal of what I wear daily, my designs and happenings of my family here in the US.
Anything else we should know?
I am very friendly, and love to chat so convo , tweet or drop by my blog and sent me a comment if you just want to say hi, or if you are interested in one of my pieces, I would love to hear what you think . I am also open to any custom order.

Kelly I don’t know about you, but LOST is like a religion in our house. We can’t wait until the final season starts next week. It is our all time favorite show. Someone has a bit too much time on their hands and created this video of the plane crash from all the characters perspectives in real time like the show 24 does. It is amazing to see how everything syncs up perfectly from a few different seasons. Very fun to watch if you are a fan of the show!

Kelly Whew! All that playing has really tired me out. Is it the weekend yet? I need to catch up on my beauty sleep.

Kelly (Via The Storque on Etsy) Sounds like a great idea!!
The day of hearts is almost upon us, and here is an opportunity to open your heart to a large circle of people. You may recall our Special Delivery project from last year. It was so heart-warming that we’ve decided to make it an Etsy tradition. Once again, we’ll be working with Citymeals-on-Wheels to bring nutritious meals, handmade greeting cards and companionship to elderly New Yorkers. A few of the details have changed, so please read on.
Sounds great? How do I get involved?
Easy! We need your help to supply the cards. Citymeals-on-Wheels serves over 18,000 people, so we need as many as we can get. There are two ways to do this. The first is (you guessed it) to make your own card or send in a vintage card from your shop and fill it out with a nice message. Please craft as many valentines as you would like and send them to us. Before you send them, you can also post photos of your cards in our Special Delivery Flickr group.
If you don’t have time to make cards, you can buy them and have them delivered to us. The deadline for us to receive the cards is Tuesday, February 9, 2010. There are a few other important guidelines for this, so please carefully read the FAQs below.
1. How do I participate in Special Delivery?
There are two ways. Either make or purchase a handmade Valentine’s Day greeting card (or several). Please mail them to:
Etsy
Attn: Adam Brown
55 Washington St.
Suite 512
Brooklyn, NY 11201
2. When do the cards have to arrive at Etsy?
The deadline is Tuesday, February 9, 2010. This is important!
3. Are there any rules about what the cards should look like?
Yes. Please follow these guidelines, otherwise we can’t use your card(s):
4. How many cards should I send?
As many as you want!
5. Is this open only to Etsy sellers?
Nope. This is open to anyone who wants to help brighten someone’s day.
6. Can I send vintage cards?
Sure! The more, the merrier.
7. What’s that deadline again?
We need to have all of the cards in our hot little hands by Tuesday, February 9, 2009. Thanks!

Kelly I’ve been slacking on the blog front the past couple weeks – sorry about that! We’ve had a lot going on in our house lately. My day job has been very busy, as January is our implementation time and craziest time of year in the health insurance world. Our friend and roommate moved out a week ago and brought with it a need to clean, paint and redo our guest bedroom that we haven’t seen in 9 months. Now I am working from my new home office, which is somewhat put together after a 16 hour day of work yesterday.
I can’t believe it is almost Valentine’s Day!! I’ve created a few new Valentine’s Day Cards in my shop and of course this is the perfect holiday to buy some roses that won’t wilt after a week. So hurry on it and buy some now!

Kelly Since I don’t have kids and I have this wonderful new camera, my cats are my test subjects. It can a be a bit difficult since they don’t usually sit still for very long (and I’m finding the Pet setting on my camera that is supposed to help with movement isn’t that great).
My pretty baby girl is always cute and willing to have her picture taken.

Max was so pooped after playing with all his toys and then playing in all the wrapping paper he passed out in a box for a few hours.

Sam looks like he is contemplating life…I assure you he was only contemplating getting off the couch to go eat.

Kelly I can’t even walk on a flat surface without tripping over my own feet, yet this guy can bounce off walls. Show off.

Kelly Santa (ok it was my husband) was nice to me this year and brought me a new Pentax K-x DSLR camera for Christmas. Photography is something that I find beautiful and amazing and a true art form. I’d love to be able to take shots like some that inspire me. It also will help me take better product photos for Perfectly Paper in the hopes that amazing pictures will help sell more flowers.
Along with the camera I was given Digital Photography for Dummies…and I think I’m beyond a dummy when it comes to this camera. There are so many terms you need to know, so much you can change to make a picture completely different. I have so much to learn! It is a bit overwhelming at the moment but I’m hoping to get the hang of how this thing works over the next few months. During that time I hope to share some of what I learn with all of you, in case you find it interesting or if you are trying, like me, to improve your photos on Etsy.
So far most of the pictures I’ve taken have been with the auto settings on the camera, but here are a couple:
Our Christmas tree…without all the presents under it (since I had to open my new camera first).

We traveled about 150 miles north of LA to Lompoc, California where wine country starts. This was the amazing view from the highway.

Sunset off the coast of Santa Barbara while driving down the 101 freeway.

My favorite beach in Malibu….ahhhh ocean.
